So heres the first of our throw back thursday. Hopefully we can make this a regular thing.
We are a big family at Wild Tides and we all want our kids to get involved and find the passion we have for the ocean. I know why I started SUP - it wasn't for the Down Winding initially. Although I am hooked these days! When I first started it was the adventure and exploration.
Getting to places that boats and other boards couldn't. Up high and looking down into the water to see what there was to see. The raw essence of adventure with no rules on how it should be done and nothing stoping me and my humble Stand Up Paddle board from exploring the coast.
These days not much has change, I get excited about down winding and grab the 14ft when the wind picks up. I leave from Hillarys Boat Harbour in Perth and I have a grin from ear to ear when I land at Mullalloo or Ocean reef. But when its calm and no wind at all I grab the iSUP and my boys and I go exploring and looking for rays at Trigg beach or star fish in Hillarys boat harbour.
Now we can't all SUP surf like Ivan and his little man Nathan or N8 as he know these days. But we can appreciate what it must have been like to be out there. Great waves, dolphins, sunshine and your Son/Dad to enjoy it with.
I think its great throw back clip that makes me want to get my board and find some dolphins with my sons!
